Pinewoods Caravan Park

Pinewoods has been welcoming holidaymakers and families to its unique site at the heart of the North Norfolk coast for over 60 years.

Our site nestles behind pine-topped sand dunes at the edge of Wells beach with its iconic row of beach huts and is walking distance from the historic port of Wells-next-the-Sea. As part of Holkham Estate we are proud to provide a range of holiday accommodation enabling holiday home owners and holiday makers to experience the absolute beauty of our location. Bordering the Holkham National Nature Reserve we are surrounded by sublime beach, woods and saltmarsh landscapes which change with the time of day and the seasons. Those staying with us are treated to vast open skies and often empty beaches and pinewoods at sunrise or dusk.

The spectacular landscape designates the Norfolk Coast as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and we support the “AONB dark skies” by keeping lighting on the park to the absolute minimum so you must bring a torch and make sure you take time to look up and take in the stars without light pollution found in more populated areas of the UK.

Apart from its static caravan fleet, Pinewoods provides 116 caravan or motorhome pitches, 6 state of the art lodges and 5 beach huts for hire for the complete holiday experience. From its earliest days Pinewoods offered holidays mixing beach life, time spent under big Norfolk skies and seaside traditions in a truly special setting. Once word got out about this great holiday experience, what was once one of North Norfolk’s best-kept secrets became a favourite destination. We remain true to our traditional roots while recognising that one of our main attractions now is our proximity to the Holkham National Nature Reserve, which covers about 3706 hectares (9158 acres) from Wells-next-the-Sea to Burnham Overy and comprises a number of rare and precious habitats including salt marsh, sand dunes, pine woodland, beach and grazing marsh as well as the attractions at Holkham Park.

Pinewoods offers holiday homes for sale and today Pinewoods has around 580 owners. To many owners, Pinewoods is now firmly a cherished home from home and a true escape to the wilds of Norfolk with the benefit of everything the town of Wells-next-the-Sea has to offer.

Regular investment into the static caravan hire and lodge fleet gave an enormous boost to the quality of the holiday experience. Pinewoods and further significant investment in 2017 saw the addition of the Spoonbill Drift Touring Park with two eco-friendly state-of-the-art shower blocks adding to Pinewoods uniqueness.

We strive for excellence across every area of the park whether in the interests of our guests, the environment we are responsible for and the wildlife that we co-exist with. We were recognised for this by being awarded annually The David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award, an achievement we are extremely proud of. We continue to look for ways of managing our landscape sustainably and for the benefit of the environment, for example, natural areas left to re-wild in the touring park so that the wintering wildfowl return to graze while the touring park is closed between 1st November and 15th March and so that flora and fauna can thrive during our open season.

The David Bellamy Blooming Marvellous Pledge for Nature is an exciting new initiative that lets holiday parks show the world how dedicated they are to helping Britain’s wildlife. We are delighted to sign up for this new scheme and commit ourselves to doing more to look after our surroundings and wildlife in a responsible way.
